PRODUCT INFORMATION

What is the GC-30W-200?

Seed counting device with integrated scales for laboratory and field trials

The GC-30W-200 was developed for applications in which the number and weight of seed samples must be recorded accurately, reproducibly, and in a continuous process. Unlike traditional seed counting devices, the system integrates scales directly into the counting process.

Central application

Direct determination of the thousand-grain weight (TGW)

The thousand-grain weight is an established quality characteristic in seed testing and breeding. It describes the ratio between grain number and weight and provides important information about grain filling, homogeneity, and seed quality.

With the GC-30W-200, TGW determination is carried out directly from the counted number of seeds and the recorded sample weight. A freely definable number of seeds is counted and weighed immediately on the integrated scale. The thousand-seed weight is automatically calculated from these two measurements.

Since larger sample quantities can also be taken into account, the influence of segregation or grain size selection is reduced and the significance of the results is increased.

Functionality

Counting and weighing seeds in an integrated process

Two parallel counting channels with vibratory feed ensure uniform separation of the grains and stable counting results.
The counted sample is fed directly to the integrated scale, so that counting and weight data are recorded without manual transfer.

The close coupling of counting and weighing increases process reliability and improves the comparability of results across different samples, crops, and measurement series.

More than just TKG

Flexible counting and weight recording for seed samples

In addition to standard-compliant determination of the thousand-grain weight, the GC-30W-200 also supports precise counting and weight recording of freely definable seed samples.

This is particularly relevant for:

  • Sample preparation in the laboratory
  • Comparative studies between lines or years
  • Weight checks of counted samples
  • Documentation and research purposes

Counting and weighing data can be used and processed independently of each other.

Documentation and traceability

Unique sample allocation with integrated code scanner

An integrated code scanner for QR codes, data matrices, and barcodes enables unique identification of samples and batches.
Counting and weighing data are assigned directly to the respective sample and output via a serial interface.

Standardized data transfer facilitates connection to external laboratory, evaluation, or documentation systems and supports traceable archiving of measurement results.
